I love gummy bears! There is something so delightful and satisfying about those chewy yet tasty little bears.
The other day I got a genius idea to try to make it myself, this is what happened.
The first recipe I tried called for 1 3oz box of jello and 7 packets of unsweetened unflavored gelatin. Mix together add 1/2 cup of water, mix again put on low heat and let it melt. Then pour it into the molds and freeze it for 10 minutes. Sounds tasty right?
Wrong. I couldn't even taste the jello they were just really chewy and rubbery. It was really gross.
But at this point I'm still hopeful. After searching for hours I found a different recipe. Mix jello and 1 tsp of gelatin add hot water, disolve and pour into trays. Basically this recipe tasted good, it was like intense jello but it made a huge mess when it spilled all over the fridge and I couldn't get it out of the mold.
Don't worry I have a plan 3. I found this reciepe that sounds really good, it calls for actually fruit juice! I might wait until I am at home to try this one because I will have more supplies. Unless I get bored or someone joins in on this crazy adventure.

At this point, I figure "do gummi bears cost THAT much to have to make them yourself? Nope!" :o) Good luck on that one! By the way, I really like the purple/orange invitation you just posted! It's REALLY cute! I'm not a huge fan of either colors, but I am a fan of DIFFERENT wedding themes, and this is definately not a theme I've been to! I used red, black & white...and so did about 3 other weddings before me! Lame! Mine was the prettiest, though! :o)
