Wow! This year is waving goodbye as next year peaks around the corner. As we say goodbye to 8 here are some things that happened that were great!

* My sister had her third baby, Audrey Ruth Allen.
* I sold knives.
* I went to an awesome tea party!
* I went horseback riding.
* My parents moved to a farm in Auburn and bought two chocolate lab puppies!
Some movies that I saw that were excellent (in no particular order)
* Secret Window
* Batman: The Dark Knight
* I'm Reed Fish
* Bella
* The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
* Ghost Town
* Kung Fu Panda
Some not so good things that happened
* Had a job as a slave, which I ended up quitting

Well 2008 you've been good to me but it's time for 2009.

Scary!

I have many fears, ok not really. There are few things that actually scare me, like my niece I enjoy scary stuff. Hollywood movies and Halloween decorations do not scare me, only real life scares me. Here is a list of things that scare me:
*Being hit by a car. I actually have been hit by a car and about 3 people get hit at the crosswalk that I live near in Rexburg. Sometimes I get nerveous crossing that crosswalk and I start talking to myself and the car, well it isn't really talking I make this noise. I usually feel much safer j-walking.
*Being rear-ended by another car. This is not something I can really control and it has happened twice this year, in the same car! That's all I'm going to say about it for now, I will blog the story later!
* Going to the bathroom in the dark in a strange place. It would be difficult to defend myself if someone were to attack me.
* Squirrels scare me a lot. They are wild animals and are completely unpredictable and unintellegent.

The Hills are alive through you and I!

Every Sunday we have family dinner together. After dinner we sometimes play games, fight, sing or watch tv. This Sunday the Sound of Music was on. As a child my Grandmother watched me after school. Which meant I ended up watching a movie at her house, so I grew up on old movies and had a place for them in my heart ever since. I was excited when the movie came on because it is one of my favorites, but because of its length I do no watch it often. When my nice and nephew, who are 6 and 3, started talking about how they loved the "singing movie" my heart melted!
If you have not seen it, do! It is a classic! Here is a link to a trailer.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a difficult day for me. I believe we should honor those who have served and those who continue to serve in the armed forces but at the same time I do not agree with war because it is so atrocious. Particularly now with the

To the future!

I just found this article on CNN, they have made a set of mechanical 'legs' that are supposed to support you in everyday functions. Which means less stress on your body! This sounds amazing! This reminds me of Wallace and Gromit's "The Wrong Trousers" except these are more modern... here's the link to the article. http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/11/07/robotic.walker.ap/index.html
There are some things that just can't be ignored. I have mixed emotions at this time of the year because I never know how to feel. My brother died three years ago this October. Usually I get incredibly depressed and nearly loose the will to live. To try to avoid this I just made myself so busy that I wouldn't have to think about it, which is rediculous and didn't work. I think about my brother every day, he is my only brother.
We are the bookends in the family, he is the oldest and I am the youngest. We are the two that looked the most alike, we both have blonde hair, blue eyes, the same nose and the same tush (both from my mom haha).
My brother was by no means a perfect man, he was 29 when he died, and for a long time I really stuggled with my mixed feelings. Now I just accept it as the way things are, everyone is human and no one is perfect. I try to remember the good things and not the bad, as hard as it may be. So here are the good things about my brother. He was very protective, in a good older brother way. Once my sister was complaining about how her lame her ex-boyfriend was being because he wouldn't leave her alone. He offered to take 'care' of it, which may seem weird but I know that he just really cared about my sister and would have done anything for her. I remember one time for Sadie's Hawkins there were 10 couples and we ordered out Macaroni Grill and my brother went and picked up the food for us. These may not seem like a big deal but it is the little things that mean the most.

Charlie Chaplin

I love to watch movies. There is so much artistry that can be found in movies, if you look for it. I watched "The Cat's Meow" which was made in 2001 and is about the movie industry in the 1920's. That got me thinking about Charlie Chaplin. He is an amazing artist. He was an actor, director, filmaker, composer and musician. His talent is incredible, his movies say a lot without using dialogue. I recomend "Modern Times" to start. it is in black and white but the quality and message is incredible.

Annoyance

How do you stop yourself from annoying other people? You can try to be overly considerate and nice, but the people who know you will see right through this and find you more fake and annoying. The only solution I have for this right now is to just be yourself and figure that people aren't always going to like you.

First blog ever!

So this is my first blog. I don't know what to write. I feel like it should be really funny or profound but... I can't think of anything to say with a million eyes staring at me. More later.
